Why We Do The Work We Do

With all the monumental changes occurring in the U.S. and around the world, the Osman Lab has been reflecting on how changes to political climate affect the work we do in environmental justice and equity. We discussed how some changes, such as the removal of EJSCREEN and CEJST data from official databases affects the work we do. But overall, today’s JEDI moment was about reconnecting with the reasons why we entered this sphere of research, and how our values and commitment remain unchanged despite shifts in the external world. A focal point in the discussion was recognizing the inherent importance of doing this work agnostic of the end-results of those efforts.
