Building power, bringing together: Climate Summit of San Mateo

With this crucial theme at the forefront, the second annual Climate Summit of San Mateo County was convened in San Francisco on October 11, 2023. The event brought together a diverse group of over 300 leaders, innovators, and community members from across the region to tackle pressing climate challenges and explore collaborative solutions.

Dr. Osman’s work was highlighted in a breakout session on Community Research Partnerships and Data. Throughout the session, he highlighted the importance of reciprocity in academic relationships with community-based organizations, through data sharing, acknowledging partners as co-authors and in paper acknowledgments, and ensuring that all types of expertise are honored.
