Dr. Osman takes the stage - National Climate Resilience Framework: From Ideas to Action

The U.S. government's first-ever National Climate Resilience Framework was established in 2023. This framework provides “a vision for a climate-resilient nation and guidance for resilience-related activities and investments by the federal government and its partners” - a mission that deeply resonates with the Osman Lab’s ideals.

Professor Osman participated in the second of a series of webinars held by the Woods Institute for the Environment to discuss Objective 5: to sustainably manage lands and waters to enhance resilience while providing other benefits. Moderated by Dr. Chris Field, the discussion topics ranged from tackling food waste and agricultural sustainability, to diversifying water portfolios for food systems and nature-based solutions.

This discussion was made all the more remarkable by the fact that Prof. Osman participated in it at 3 A.M from the corridor of a hotel in Japan while on vacation, unbeknownst to his enthralled audience! Given the trouble it took to make this happen, we hope that you will take some time to give this a watch and let us know what you thought!
