Inequity and Intersections - The Duality of Environmental Justice

Combating climate change has increasingly required a deep understanding of the interplay between social and ecological systems, a realization that underpins much of the work we do at the Osman Lab.

At the 2024 Duality of Environmental Justice Conference conducted at the Stanford Graduate School of Business on March 18 and 19, Dr. Osman presented some of this seminal work being done on the linkage between race and clean water violations in the United States. He was one of 36 eminent scholars who discussed the creation of an environmental justice culture to combat the duality of the most marginalized communities bearing the brunt of climate damage, while contributing the least to its creation.
