It’s the climb - A day at the Climate Summit for San Mateo County

On October 8, 2024, Osman Lab students Allisa, Clara and Yulitzi attended the Climate Summit for San Mateo County organized by Thrive Alliance, Nuestra Casa, Climate Resilient Communities, and Rise South City. The Climate Summit is a yearly groundbreaking event focused on elevating the needs and perspectives of underrepresented communities who bear the brunt of climate change. With a vision for every resident to enjoy clean air, safe water, healthy homes, and disaster-resilient neighborhoods, this summit was centered on actionable solutions and inclusive discussions. Dr. Khalid Osman made a surprise appearance as well, chairing an event aiming to understand climate change and its adverse impacts on health and livelihoods in the context of the political, economic, and cultural systems that we live in.
