This quarter Dr. Osman is teaching his inaugural class at Stanford, CEE 245E: Equitable Infrastructure Solutions. This course introduces to students to foundational theories around equity especially as they relate to environmental topics and how civil engineers play a unique role in ensuring equity in infrastructure projects. A highlight of this quarter was a guest lecture from Dr. Sri Vedachalam, director of Water Equity and Climate Resilience at ECT Inc. Dr. Vedachalam provided a valuable perspective on equity-driven engineering solutions in the water industry by discussing highlights from his work at ECT and key ongoing issues of water equity.
