The Houston Diaries

Dr. Osman, Clara and Sam took the first of hopefully many trips to Houston as part of a project being done in collaboration with Bayou City Waterkeeper (BCWK). The project aims to analyze community perceptions of stormwater infrastructure. The team conducted focus groups in Northeast Houston and Baytown to better understand the issues caused by flooding in historically marginalized communities and had the opportunity to learn from the powerful experiences shared. Outside the focus groups, BCWK team-members were incredibly gracious with their time. The team was treated to guided walks around the Sheldon Lake State Park and the Baytown Wetland Center to obtain a better understanding of local ecology.
