We Remember Them All ‘Two’ Well: Dr. Osman’s invited talks at AGU
As 2024 comes to a close, Osman Lab had yet another reason to celebrate. Dr. Osman was invited to give two talks at the AGU 2024 conference in Washington D.C., highlighting the lab’s ongoing focus on addressing critical challenges in water infrastructure and sanitation. The first talk, "Quantitatively Incorporating Social Equity in Water Network Maintenance and Rehabilitation Decision-Making" introduced a new framework for integrating social equity into water infrastructure maintenance, ensuring fair resource allocation for disadvantaged communities. The second presentation, "Advancing Sanitation Justice through a Community-Engaged Approach in Rural Alabama" focused on the sanitation issues in Lowndes County, Alabama, and emphasized the need for solutions that go beyond traditional technical fixes.
We are thrilled to see the Osman Lab's meaningful progress in the field of environmental justice gaining more and more momentum in the scientific community. Dr. Osman’s invited speaker events are yet another testament to the lab’s continued commitment to driving change in this space.
